Webhook Gap Reconciliation for Indie SaaS
Compare provider event history with application receipts to investigate webhook gaps without rerouting traffic. Preliminary concept.
An indie SaaS operator may need to answer a question that delivery logs alone cannot settle: did the application process every relevant event the provider produced? The proposed product compares provider event history with the application's own receipt and processing records. The target buyer is a founder or developer operating a small service. The working hypothesis is that occasional checks currently involve exports, log searches and a spreadsheet. An unanswered mismatch can lead to confusion about whether an event never arrived, arrived twice or arrived but failed during processing.
Built for Developers, Solo Founders.
Build a comparison workspace that works beside the existing webhook endpoint. The first version can reconcile imported provider events against imported application receipts, using stable event identifiers and a defined time window.
Weekend scope: about 12 hours.

1. Project Setup
Build Event Gap, a read-only webhook reconciliation workspace. Use Next.js and TypeScript for the interface and comparison logic. Use Supabase Auth as the only login and Supabase for owned records. Start with fictional JSON exports, with no live provider credentials. Create an import screen, comparison report and exception detail screen. Tables: - provider_events(id, owner_id, provider_key, event_key, event_type, occurred_at) - application_receipts(id, owner_id, event_key, received_at, processing_state) - reconciliation_runs(id, owner_id, window_start, window_end, coverage_note, state) Make imports repeatable and preserve source references. Do not build: billing, automatic replay, live connectors, an ingress proxy or enterprise permissions. Done when: an owner can import two synthetic exports and open a saved comparison report.
2. Core Feature
Implement the bounded comparison in Event Gap. Match provider events and application receipts by their documented event key. Separate matched events, missing receipts, duplicate receipts and processing failures. Show the import window, filters and missing coverage above the results. Preserve unmatched receipts as a separate investigation group. Let the owner save a note and export the report without changing any event. Done when: the supplied synthetic examples appear in the correct groups and repeated imports do not change the result.
3. Landing Page
Create a landing page for Event Gap aimed at indie SaaS operators. Explain the proposed comparison between provider history and application receipts. Show a fictional mismatch report with coverage boundaries clearly visible. Describe the export-based pilot and the integration work still needed. Add a waitlist form stored in the existing database. Use one call to action: request a reconciliation pilot. Done when: a visitor understands what the comparison needs and can join the waitlist.
4. Branding Package
Use a design or image tool to create a branding package for Event Gap. Make a compact wordmark and a symbol based on aligned event timelines. Use a warm neutral palette with lavender and amber investigation states. Avoid decorative code, alarm symbols and claims of guaranteed delivery. Include an application icon and examples of status labels on light and dark surfaces. Done when: the assets are readable at small sizes and every status also has a text label.
